Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, June 12 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- at its annual WWDC event last week, Apple unveiled the much-anticipated Vision Pro headset, which runs visionOS and is an augmented reality (AR) device designed for developers, content creators and professionals. However, the device sells for as much as $3500 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 24955 yuan), which is clearly difficult for the average consumer to accept. But according to the latest news, Apple is developing a lower-end version of the Vision Pro that is cheaper and more suitable for the mass market, and will compromise in some ways.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a low-end version of the Vision Pro, which could be called "Apple Vision" or "Apple Vision One". The device will be different from the high-end version in terms of processors, displays and sensors to reduce costs. Goolman pointed out that Apple initially expected to sell less than 1 million high-end versions of the Vision Pro, but that number could shrink further as consumers' purchasing power declines.
It is unclear when Apple plans to launch a low-end version of the Vision Pro or what compromises will be made. Goolman believes that lower-end versions of Vision Pro will use slower processors. If compared with the recently released high-end version, the low-end version may carry the M1 chip. But if Apple uses the M3 chip when launching the second-generation Vision Pro, then the lower version may use the M2 chip, while the current high-end version of the Vision Pro uses the M2 chip and the R1 chip. In addition to the processor, Gurman believes that the lower-end version of the Vision Pro will use a lower-resolution display. Apple may choose the HD resolution and improve the image quality by optimizing the pixels. The high-end version of the Vision Pro uses a dual 4K resolution micro OLED display, which is one of the most expensive components. In addition, Apple may also reduce the number of sensors and further reduce costs. For example, Apple may use ordinary cameras instead of 3D cameras and lower-grade speakers instead of spatial audio speakers. Through these measures, as well as the optimization of production processes and economies of scale, the price of low-end versions may be reduced by "hundreds of dollars".
Although the two devices differ in hardware, they both offer the same VisionOS experience, a product line strategy similar to the difference between Apple's iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.
