CTOnews.com, June 11 (Xinhua)-- Twitter has refused to pay its expiring Google Cloud bill, which could paralyze Twitter's trust and security team, Platformer reported.

It is reported that before Musk bought Twitter, Twitter signed a contract with Google for many years, involving services such as cracking down on spam and protecting accounts. But since Musk took over, Twitter has slashed costs, laid off thousands of people and asked the company to cut infrastructure spending, such as cloud services, by $1 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 7.13 billion yuan). According to The Information, Twitter has been trying to renegotiate its contract with Google since at least March.

Twitter doesn't rely entirely on Google Cloud, which also uses Amazon's cloud service. But Amazon also warned Twitter to withhold its advertising revenue because it owed cloud computing fees to Amazon Web Services (Amazon Web Services), The Information reported.

Neither Twitter nor Google could be reached for comment, and the Platformer report did not elaborate on how the conflict between the two companies would affect Twitter's trust and security team.
