CTOnews.com, June 11 (Xinhua)-- Huawei recently raised its mobile phone shipment target to 40 million units in 2023, while Huawei set the target to 30 million units at the beginning of the year, according to Taurus of the China Securities Exchange.

According to Omdia, a market research firm, China shipped 28 million mobile phones in 2022. People in the industry chain said that this means that Huawei is confident about the company's mobile phone shipments in 2023.

Global smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2023 were 270 million units, down 15% from a year earlier and 11% from a month earlier, according to IDC.

CTOnews.com noted that this is not the first time it has been reported that Huawei will increase its mobile phone shipments this year to 40 million. Earlier, CteeNews reported that Huawei had raised its target for mobile phone shipments in 2023 to 40 million units from 37 million units, an increase of 8.11%. Huawei is also the only mobile phone maker that has raised its shipping target because most other manufacturers are cutting orders, even Apple.
