After Google has used Samsung ISOCELL GN1 as the main camera for four consecutive years, this year's Pixel 8 series two models will be upgraded to GN2, which can get brighter pictures and faster shutter speeds compared to the previous generation, while reducing blur.

CTOnews.com notes that this sensor also supports 8K/30fps video capture, coupled with the Tensor G3 processor, I believe the Pixel 8 image level will be greatly improved.

In addition, the new phone also adds support for Staggered HDR, which reduces the delay between HDR frames and thus speeds up shooting. The technology could further boost Google's HDR+ capabilities, giving users a faster, more reliable shooting experience.

Google Pixel 8 Pro upgraded the 12MP Sony IMX386 to the 64MP Sony IMX787, a huge upgrade for ultra-wide angles, and the sensor's size is almost twice that of the original, which should greatly improve image quality.

Google Pixel 8 camera software is still in a fairly early stage of development, focusing mainly on adapting to new hardware, but there are also some new basic features that have been enhanced, such as adaptive flash and "segmented AWB," which will use AI to segment the current scene into different parts and then selectively apply different processing to specific parts of the image.
