Blue Beetle is a title used by several superheroes in DC Comics for three generations, first appearing in Mystery Men Comics #1 in 1939.

CTOnews.com learned from official sources that Blue Beetle, directed by Angel Manuel Soto and written by Gareth Dunnet Alcocer and starring Solo Maridona, is DC's first film focusing on Latin superheroes.

The film outlines the story of Jaime Reyes, the third generation blue beetle, who lives with his parents and sister in El Paso, Texas. The second generation blue beetle Cod sent scarabs to deliver messages to Captain Miracle before his death. After Captain Miracle was killed, scarabs landed in El Paso, Texas, and were picked up by Jaime. From then on, they became the third generation blue beetle.
