According to CTOnews.com news on June 10, Liu Deyin, executive chairman of TSMC, recently responded to the report that the US factory was "not satisfied with soil and water". He said: "those who are not willing to work shifts should not enter the semiconductor industry, which not only brings you a good salary, but also needs your enthusiasm for semiconductors."

CTOnews.com has previously reported that TSMC employs 65000 people worldwide and has so far recruited nearly 2000 employees, including 600 engineers, for its Arizona plant.

TSMC said it plans to hire 4500 people for two Arizona fabs and increase to 42000 jobs by 2030.
