CTOnews.com June 10 news, according to the latest data released by the energy think tank, Europe's wind and solar power generation reached 59 TWh in May this year, accounting for 31%; fossil fuel power generation was 53 TWh, accounting for 27%, which is the first time wind and solar energy exceeded fossil fuels.

The report pointed out that in May, solar power generation reached 27 TWh, accounting for 14%, setting a new European record. Wind power generation reached 32 TWh, accounting for 17%, but compared with January this year's record (54 TWh), there is a big drop.

Coal power generation has been maintained at around 10 percent, generating 20 TWh, and from January to May, the region's natural gas and coal production decreased by 20 percent and 15 percent, respectively, while solar power generation increased by 10 percent and wind power generation increased by 5 percent.
