In May this year, China's automobile production and sales reached 233.3 million and 2.382 million respectively, an increase of 9.4% and 10.3% respectively over the previous month, and an increase of 21.1% and 27.9% respectively over the same period last year. From January to May this year, China's automobile production and sales reached 1068.7 million and 10.617 million respectively, an increase of 11.1% over the same period last year.

According to the China Automobile Association, in May, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 7.13 million and 717000 respectively, an increase of 53% and 60.2% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 30.1%. From January to May, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 300.5 million and 2.94 million respectively, an increase of 45.1% and 46.8% respectively over the same period last year, and the market share reached 27.7%.

According to the official Wechat account of the China Automobile Association of ▲, in May this year, China's automobile enterprises exported 389000 vehicles, up 3.4 percent from the previous month and 58.7 percent from the same period last year. Of these, 325000 passenger vehicles were exported in May, up 3.1 percent from the previous month and 66.3 percent over the same period last year; and 63000 commercial vehicles were exported, up 5.2 percent from the previous month and 28.6 percent from the same period last year. The export of new energy vehicles was 108000, an increase of 7.9 percent over the previous month and a 1.5-fold increase over the same period last year. From January to May, automobile enterprises exported 1.758 million vehicles, an increase of 81.5 percent over the same period last year.

The China Automobile Association pointed out: in May, among the top 10 vehicle exports, SAIC exported 83000 vehicles, an increase of 5.9% over the same period last year, accounting for 21.3% of the total export volume. Compared with the same period last year, Chery's export growth was the most significant, reaching 74000 vehicles, a 1.7-fold increase over the same period last year. From January to May, in terms of growth, BYD exported 69000 vehicles, up 14.2 times over the same period last year; Chery exported 319000 vehicles, up 1.8 times year-on-year; and Great Wall exported 99000 vehicles, double the same period last year.

According to the official Wechat account of ▲, passenger car exports are 1.467 million, up 96.6 percent over the same period last year, and commercial vehicle exports are 291000, up 30.9 percent. The export of new energy vehicles was 457000, an increase of 1.6 times over the same period last year.
