In terms of production, in May, China's power battery production totaled 56.6GWh, an increase of 57.4 percent over the same period last year and 20.4 percent month-on-month. Among them, ternary battery output 18.6GWh, accounting for 32.9% of the total output, up 11.9% from the same period last year and 5.8% month-on-month growth; lithium iron phosphate battery output 37.8GWh, accounting for 66.9% of the total output, up 96.7% from the same period last year, up 29.0% from the same period last year.

From January to May, the cumulative output of power batteries in China (233.5GWh) increased by 34.7% compared with the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative output of ternary batteries 81.9GWh, accounting for 35.1% of the total output, increased by 17.0% over the same period last year; the cumulative output of lithium iron phosphate batteries 151.3GWh, accounting for 64.8% of the total output, increased by 46.7% over the same period last year.

Among them, ternary battery 9.0GWh accounted for 32.0% of the total installed capacity, an increase of 8.7% over the same period last year and 12.8% compared with the previous year; lithium iron phosphate battery 19.2GWh accounted for 67.8% of the total installed capacity, up 87.2% from the same period last year and 11.8% from the previous year. From January to May, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 119.2GWh, an increase of 43.5% over the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative loading of ternary batteries 37.9GWh, accounting for 31.8 percent of the total installed capacity, increased by 11.4 percent over the same period last year; the cumulative loading of lithium iron phosphate batteries 81.2GWh, accounting for 68.1 percent of the total installed capacity, increased by 65.9 percent over the same period last year.

In May, a total of 35 power battery enterprises were installed in China's new energy vehicle market, 2 fewer than the same period last year. The power battery loads of the top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery companies are 22.5GWh, 24.9GWh and 27.5GWh respectively, accounting for 79.8%, 88.1% and 97.4% of the total installed capacity, respectively. From January to May, a total of 43 power battery enterprises in China's new energy vehicle market realized vehicle loading, which was the same as that in the same period last year. The top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery enterprises installed 97.2GWh, 107.2GWh and 116.5GWh respectively, accounting for 81.6%, 89.9% and 97.7% of the total installed capacity, respectively.

In terms of exports, in May, China's power battery enterprises exported a total of 11.3GWh. Among them, ternary batteries exported 7.6GWh, accounting for 67.2% of the total exports; lithium iron phosphate batteries exported 3.7GWh, accounting for 32.6% of the total exports. From January to May, the accumulative battery exports of China's power battery enterprises reached 45.9GWh. Among them, ternary batteries exported 32.8GWh, accounting for 71.4% of the total exports, and lithium iron phosphate batteries exported 13.0GWh, accounting for 28.4% of the total exports.

CTOnews.com learned from the data of the top 15 domestic power battery loading companies released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance in May that Ningde era ranked first with 41.31%, while BYD ranked second with 30.72%. Zhongchuang Xinhang, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Xin Wanda, LG New Energy, Zhengli Xinneng, Funeng Technology, Ruipu Lanjun, Honeycomb Energy, Polyfluorodo, Jiewei Power, Rongsheng Alliance Couli and SK ranked 3rd to 15th respectively.
