According to CTOnews.com news on June 9, TSMC today released its revenue report for May 2023, with a revenue of 176.54 billion New Taiwan dollars (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 40.957 billion yuan), a decrease of 4.9 percent from a year earlier and an increase of 19.4 percent from the previous month.

In addition, TSMC's operating income from January 2023 to May 2023 totaled NT $833.07 billion (currently about 193.272 billion yuan), down 1.9 per cent from a year earlier.

Liu Deyin, chairman of TSMC, said at TSMC's annual shareholders' meeting on June 6 that the company's customer inventory is gradually decreasing and end-market demand is picking up. Although there is a little negative growth, TSMC is ready for the next wave of good growth next year and will continue to create maximum value for shareholders.

Wei Zhijia, CEO of TSMC, expects TSMC revenue to fall 10 per cent in the first half of the year compared with the same period last year, while the second half of the year will be better than the first half.

Earlier, it was reported that TSMC had started preparatory work for the trial production of 2nm, aiming to trial-produce nearly 1,000 pieces this year and widen the gap with competitors such as Samsung and Intel. Based on its technical advantages, TSMC is planning to increase the quotation for advanced processes from January next year, and has communicated with a number of customers, including Apple, MediaTek, AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm and Broadcom.
