CTOnews.com June 9, Apple iOS 17 was officially announced at the recent WWDC 2023 developer conference. Although many users complain that the update is too small, there is still room for exploration in the details.

CTOnews.com found a new API in Apple's iOS 17 developer documentation that combines the electric bracket of the iPhone phone with the camera.

The API, called DockKit, is officially described as "interacting with accessories that track objects as the camera moves" and requires iOS 17.0, iPadOS 17.0, Mac Catalyst 17.0 or above to use.

According to the developer's documentation, DockKit can control the bracket of the base accessories and track the position of the face and body that appear in the video frame through the camera. This function, called system tracking (system tracking), can be used by distance teachers walking around the classroom to keep the phone tracking and shooting all the time.

Apple said at the conference that the new DockKit API has many uses in addition to video capture, such as fitness, corporate, education and health care, and shows a cool example where the bracket can be moved according to the user's hand movements.
