CTOnews.com, June 9 (Reuters)-Meta yesterday showed employees a range of generative AI tools it is building, including ChatGPT-like chatbots for Messenger and WhatsApp, which support multiple languages.

According to a summary of the meeting provided by a Meta spokesman, company executives who spoke at the plenary meeting also showed off the upcoming Instagram's new AI features, including modifying photos posted by users through text prompts and creating emoji stickers for the messaging service.

Industry analysts believe that competitors such as Google, Microsoft and Snapchat launched their respective generative AI tools several months ago, and Meta's meeting yesterday was not only the first disclosure of its generative AI plan, but also a more specific indication of how the company will provide generative AI tools to its 3.8 billion monthly active users.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's chief executive, told employees at a meeting yesterday that advances in generative AI technology last year had made it possible for the company to "integrate it into every one of our products".

In addition to consumer-oriented tools, executives at the meeting announced an employee productivity assistant called Metamate, which answers questions and performs tasks based on information gathered from the company's internal systems.
