The US inflation reduction Act sets out some requirements for the production or assembly of electric car battery packs in North America, but there is still uncertainty about the details and is not explicitly calculated on a per-car basis. This means that Tesla only needs to ensure that the average percentage meets the requirements to continue to use some of the Ningde era batteries and is still eligible for a full tax credit.

It is reported that Ningde era has been supplying goods to Tesla since July 2020. According to the Ningde Times Annual report, as of 2022, Tesla has become the biggest customer of the Ningde era for two consecutive years. In 2022, Ningde era's sales revenue from Tesla's purchase of lithium batteries reached 38 billion yuan, accounting for 11.59% of the company's total revenue. In 2021, this income was 13 billion yuan, accounting for 10% of the total revenue of the Ningde era.
