CTOnews.com June 8, Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that TikTok hopes to achieve global e-commerce revenue of $20 billion this year (CTOnews.com Note: about 142.6 billion yuan), more than quadrupling from last year's revenue of $4.4 billion (currently about 31.372 billion yuan).

To achieve this, TikTok is betting on emerging Southeast Asian markets such as Indonesia, the source added. In the long run, the company hopes that TikTok Shop will eventually challenge Amazon, the leader of e-commerce in the United States.

TikTok did not immediately respond to requests for comment from foreign media.
