CTOnews.com, June 8 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Microsoft announced in a blog post on Wednesday that it is using its Azure cloud service to introduce OpenAI's powerful language generation models to U.S. government agencies, including OpenAI's latest and most advanced large language model (LLM) GPT-4, and GPT-3.

The ChatGPT model launched by OpenAI has triggered an upsurge in LLM, and enterprises of all sizes are scrambling to take advantage of these model development functions. This is the first time that Microsoft has introduced GPT technology to Azure Government, which provides cloud solutions to US government agencies and is the first major company to provide chatbot technology to the government. It is reported that the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Energy and NASA are all government customers of Azure Government services.

Officials at the Defense Technology Information Center (DTIC) under the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that they will test the OpenAI model with Microsoft's new products. The information center focuses on collecting and sharing the results of military research.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Microsoft has provided GPT technology to Azure commercial cloud users through Azure OpenAI Services, and as of May, the service had 4500 customers. Microsoft says government customers can adapt the language model to specific tasks, including content generation, language-to-code conversion and summary generation.
