CTOnews.com, June 8 (Xinhua) Apple's high-end smartwatch, the Apple Watch Ultra, has an ultra-bright display of 2000 nits, twice the size of other Apple Watch, and a unique dial called Wayfinder, which displays location coordinates and altitude data, using the watch's built-in dual-band GPS hardware.

The Wayfinder dial also has a special function, which is night mode. In night mode, the color of the dial changes to black and red, which is more suitable for viewing in dim light. Before watchOS 10, switching night mode was achieved by rotating the digital crown. But in watchOS 10, the digital crown is used to activate the new widget area, so the night mode switch is moved to the dial customized menu, requiring more steps to turn on.

However, CTOnews.com notes that watchOS 10 also brings a new improvement to Apple WatchUltra, which is the automatic night mode, which can determine whether the night mode needs to be turned on or not based on the ambient light sensor of the watch.

Nonetheless, the night mode currently only changes the color of the dial and does not affect the display of the widget area. If users look at widgets in dim light, they may feel uncomfortable with their eyes. It is hoped that Apple can solve this problem in future system updates and improve the night mode of Apple Watch Ultra.
