CTOnews.com, June 7 (Xinhua)-- Samsung will launch its new folding screen phone, Galaxy Z Flip 5, in July. Today's whistleblower Yogesh Brar tweeted some configuration information about the phone.

It is said that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, memory for 8GB, storage space to provide 128GB and 256GB. The folding inner screen of the machine is 6.7in FHD+ OLED panel, which supports 120Hz refresh rate, while the outer screen has increased to 3.4in from 1.9in of the previous generation.

However, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 doesn't seem to have much improvement in batteries and cameras. According to the whistleblower, the battery capacity of the machine is still 3700mAh and the wired charging speed is maintained at 25W. It is not clear whether the phone supports wireless charging, but previous Galaxy Z Flip series have this feature.

On the camera side, the rear camera of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 remains unchanged, still two 1200-megapixel lenses. But Samsung may improve the photo experience through software optimization and new Snapdragon chips. In addition, the whistleblower revealed that the machine will be pre-installed with Android 13 and One UI 5.1, and will be able to enjoy four major Android version upgrades and five-year security patches.

CTOnews.com previously reported that, according to Samsung's official press release, Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 will be held "at the end of July" in Sam Sung-dong COEX, Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea, "to further promote the widespread adoption of folding screen phones and consolidate their position as a category creator", when Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are expected to be launched.
