According to the patent description, 24 magnetic circles are arranged in a square array at the bottom of the iPad screen, which can be used to charge the Apple Pencil stylus.

Apple said in the patent that users no longer need to charge the Apple Pencil alone, and that an inductive receiving coil will be introduced on the Apple Pencil, which can be recharged simply by placing it on the surface of the iPad.

In addition, in the process of using Apple Pencil, iPad can also take the initiative to charge Apple Pencil.

In a further embodiment, the electronic device and the stylus may establish two-way communication through an induction charging circuit to communicate only when the stylus is used to reduce power consumption.

In addition to charging the Apple Pencil, the iPad can also act as a wireless charging panel to provide wireless charging for devices such as the Apple Watch.
