CTOnews.com, June 7, Microsoft has been making some small but regular updates for Office PowerPoint Web users over the past few months, including adding ways to upload and save locally stored videos to PowerPoint presentations, as well as improvements to its accessibility area.

Now, Microsoft has released a number of new features and improvements for Web users who like to do digital rendering on PowerPoint, one of which is the addition of a ruler to the application.

Microsoft said:

"the new digital ruler helps you create and insert lines accurately. You can also use the built-in angle display to create accurate angles between lines."

There is also a new feature in the PowerPoint drawing tab that allows users to undo and redo ink strokes directly from the tab without having to go to the Home tab.

You can also use the new laser pen feature in the slide show to help improve your PowerPoint presentation. Microsoft said:

"the new laser pen in slide mode allows you to easily draw the audience's attention to important parts of a given slide. It also allows you to temporarily use ink on slides to further help you focus on key elements of the content."

Microsoft pointed out that the laser pen digital ink on the slide will not be placed permanently, but only temporarily, and will disappear in a few seconds.

CTOnews.com Note: the PowerPoint Web version now allows users to create lines using a digital stylus or mouse by holding down the Shift key while highlighting or inking the slide.

Microsoft said the PowerPoint team is developing an upcoming feature that will allow users to partially erase ink strokes using the Point Eraser tool, which will be added to the PowerPoint Web version in the second half of 2023.
