Since the issuance of 5G license on June 6, 2019, China has built the largest 5G network in the world, and the sharing rate is also increasing.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the total number of 5G base stations in China has reached 2.733 million, the largest network scale in the world, and 5G applications have been integrated into nearly 60% of the national economy.

CCTV pointed out that the joint construction of shared communication base stations (CTOnews.com Note: China Telecom and China Unicom, China Radio and Television and China Mobile Communications on 700MHz and base stations) have enabled China to achieve fast and low-cost network coverage in the pre-construction phase of 5G. According to industry insiders, the sharing rate of new base stations across the country has been raised to more than 80%.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out that at present, 5G applications have been integrated into 60 of the 97 national economic categories, and the number of application cases is more than 50,000. The basic telecommunications industry invested nearly 600 billion yuan to build a 5G network, directly driving the total economic output of about 3.8 trillion yuan, and indirectly driving the total output of about 9.4 trillion yuan, effectively promoting the development of the digital economy.
