Pre-stage scheduling is a feature launched by iPadOS 16 last year that allows iPad users to open multiple application windows at the same time and enables iPad to work with external monitors like computers. With the launch of iPadOS 17, Apple will further improve the function of front-stage scheduling, which will add more flexibility in terms of window size and location.

The lock screen customization feature added to iPhone in iOS 16 is now available in iPadOS 17, where users can add different widgets to the lock screen interface, such as weather, calendar, memo, etc., to facilitate quick viewing of information.

In addition, iPadOS 17 will introduce interactive widgets that can be placed on the home screen to provide more operational options. For example, users can play music directly on the home screen, view stock quotes, or control smart home devices.

In addition, iPadOS 17 will also support real-time activities, just like iOS, allowing users to share their screens, music or games during video calls.

IPadOS 17 has also improved note-taking applications and PDF comments. Health apps have been available only on iPhone for years, and in iPadOS 17, iPad users can view their health data without the need for a phone. The app has been redesigned to accommodate iPad's larger display and can access all the health data already stored on iPhone through iCloud.

Some new features in iOS 17 have also been added to iPadOS 17, such as the update of new Journal and Find My applications, a series of new functions of information applications (such as automatic transcription of voice messages), the extension of AirDrop and intelligent error correction for text input.

The first beta of iPadOS 17 will be available to developers today. Apple says it will launch a public beta this summer, while an official release is expected this fall.
