CTOnews.com June 5, Rockstar (R Star) confirmed the existence of a new generation of "GTA" games a year ago, but no more official information has been revealed. However, a recent statement from Take-Two (T2) mentioned that "major events are expected (April 2024 to March 2025)", which is also seen as an indication of the launch date of "GTA 6".

Recently, industry analyst Joost Van Dreunen focused on "GTA 6" in his latest briefing, predicting that the game will sell more than 2500 million copies and earn at least $1 billion in a short period of time (CTOnews.com Note: current about 7.1 billion yuan).

It is worth noting that according to the tradition of R Star, "GTA 6" may not be launched on the PC platform, which means that the number of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S users will largely determine the early sales of "GTA 6".

So far, 38.4 million PS5 have been sold, while Sony expects to sell more than 63 million by the first quarter of 2024. Microsoft did not announce specific sales, but it is reported that this generation of Xbox hosts have sold more than 20 million units. This means that by the time GTA 6 is released, the total sales of the two consoles may reach 100 million or more. By contrast, nearly 160 million PS3 and Xbox 360s had been sold when GTA 5 was released.

According to previous reports from CTOnews.com, T2's full-year forecast for fiscal year 2025 shows that its game business net bookings will increase by $2.5 billion year-on-year (currently about 17.75 billion yuan). In this regard, analysts pointed out that the "GTA 6" is clearly the only product that can promote net bookings to achieve such a large increase.
