It takes several seconds for SGE's answer to show up, which is impatient. While waiting, a blank color box appears on the screen with loading animation. When the search results are finally loaded, the color box expands and Google's summary pops up, pushing down the list of links below. The TheVerge editor said he didn't like waiting for the process, and if it wasn't for testing, he would probably scroll through the page and click on the link directly.

SGE's answers are usually lengthy and confusing. For example, when searching for "where can I see Ted Russo?" The answer generated by artificial intelligence has two paragraphs, and the answer is correct, which can be seen on Apple TV +, which costs $6.99 a month for Apple TV +. But there is a lot of extra stuff in the answer. on the desktop version, Google will display a card of source information on the right, but users can't easily tell which information comes from which sources. On mobile, the card appears under the summary text.

When asked, "where can I buy tears of the Kingdom?" The result is a mess, with huge sponsor cards and a confusing list of suggested retail stores displayed at the top of the result. There is no game list when clicked, and there is a Google map that pinpoints these retail stores. There are three link cards on the right, in which you can find ways to buy games. Searching for a second-hand red iPhone 13 Mini is not much better.

SGE sometimes fails and fails to generate answers to even the most popular search terms, such as "YouTube", "Amazon", "Wordle", "Twitter" and "Roblox" that return an error message: "artificial intelligence overview does not apply to this search." Words such as "Facebook", "Gmail", "Apple" and "Netflix" all display SGE-formatted answers normally, but the results also take a long time to show.
