CTOnews.com, June 4 (Xinhua) the government of the Indian state of Gujarat announced that Indian industrial giant Tata Group has signed an agreement with the state to build the country's first lithium-ion battery super factory.

Tata Agaratas Energy Storage Solutions, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, signed a memorandum of understanding with Gujarat on Friday local time to build an electric car battery factory with a capacity of 20 gigawatt hours to produce India's first lithium-ion batteries, with an estimated initial investment of nearly 130 billion rupees (CTOnews.com Note: about 11.18 billion yuan currently), creating direct and indirect jobs for more than 13000 people.

Tata Group is currently the largest group company in India, including 96 companies in seven departments, operating in more than 40 countries on six continents, and its products are exported to 140 countries, covering aviation, automotive, fast consumer products, chemicals, national defense aerospace, power distribution systems, engineering, finance, medical care, information, railway locomotives, real estate, steel, communications and other fields.

According to public sources, the Tata Group is named after its founder, Jamshidji Tata, and members of his family have almost always served as chairman of the group. The chairman of the group during the transition period is Ratan Tata.
