CTOnews.com June 4, the GNOME team upgraded the component Mutter and window manager GNOME Shell to version 44.2 today after launching the GNOME 44.2 desktop environment this week.

The GNOME Shell 44.2 update further improves the built-in screencap function, optimizes the Bluetooth menu in Quick Setting and allows users to customize the Bluetooth device name.

The GNOME Shell 44.2 update also has a large text failure in the calendar plug-in, fixed authentication dialogs in remote sessions, and so on.

CTOnews.com also learned from the report that the Mutter 44.2 update improves support for external flat panel displays, fixes traditional full-screen windows on all monitors with multiple monitor settings, fixes resource contention in xwayland-on-demand, and fixes excessive input areas around Xwayland windows.

Mutter 44.2 fixed some misalignment problems under X11 full screen windows, fixed X11 client input area issues, fixed redrawing regression in non-DMA remote sessions, fixed drag and drop in some server-side decorated windows, and so on.
