CTOnews.com, June 4, according to Microsoft's official Microsoft 365roadmap, Edge browsers will enable "enhanced Web Security" by default in July this year, and the default state is "balanced".

On 64-bit Windows, macOS, Linux, and ARM systems, enhanced Web Security is enabled by default and is preset to balanced mode.

Administrators can manage through EnhanceSecurityModeIndicatorUIEnabled and EnhanceSecurityModeOptOutUXEnabled policies.

Microsoft's official introduction to the balance model is as follows:

The working principle of balanced mode is an adaptive mode, which is based on the user's behavior on a particular device and Microsoft's understanding of the risks of the entire Web, so that the website that users are most likely to use and trust has full access to the Web platform, while restricting what new and unfamiliar websites can do when visiting.

Strict mode works as the name implies, and by default, strict mode applies these security protections to all websites. However, you can still manually add sites to the list of exceptional sites, and the corporate administrator configuration, if any, still applies. Strict mode does not apply to most end users because it may require some level of configuration for users to complete their normal tasks.
