CrossOver's developer CodeWeavers announced this week that the software will support Microsoft DirectX 12 this summer, which is good news for gamers.

CTOnews.com Note: DirectX is the graphics rendering API on Windows and Xbox hosts. The latest version of DirectX 12 brings many improvements, such as allowing games to access all the cores of GPU at the same time, resulting in better performance and higher graphics quality when playing games.

CrossOver is currently only available in DirectX 11 and previous versions, and players will have a better gaming experience by adding DirectX 12 support.

According to CodeWeavers, CrossOver will support DirectX 12 for specific games, rather than a general solution. The company says the technology is complex and flawed, so it wants to make sure users don't have problems. The first game supported by DirectX 12 through CrossOver will be Diablo II: remake.

As can be seen from the official demo, the Apple M2 Mac successfully ran Diablo II: a remake of DirectX 12, and the picture was really good.
