Samsung is expected to launch new folding screen phones Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, as well as the smartwatch Galaxy Watch 6 series at the event.

As the world's largest mobile phone maker, Samsung used to hold the launch of its flagship phones in Europe and the United States. One of the few counterexamples is the Galaxy Note 20 series, which was held in South Korea in an online virtual manner because of the epidemic.

Asked by the Yonhap news agency why he returned to South Korea to hold a press conference, Lee Yong-hee said, "because South Korea is very meaningful and important to Samsung."

Lee Yong-hee did not disclose the exact time and place of the next Galaxy Unpacked launch. But there are reports that the event may be held on July 26 at the COEX Center in Gangnam District of Seoul, which means Samsung will hold its flagship new product launch in the second half of the year earlier than usual.

According to CTOnews.com, it has been reported that Samsung plans to sell 15 million folding screen phones this year, which means it will be 60 per cent higher than last year's actual sales.
