CTOnews.com June 1 news, market research firm TechInsights recently released a quarterly research report, Q1 smartphone display panel market revenue of more than $9 billion in 2023 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 63.99 billion yuan), down 12% from the same period last year, and smartphone display panel shipments fell by 20%.

In terms of OLED display panels, this market segment accounts for nearly 80 per cent of the market, with flexible OLED market share exceeding 30 per cent and rigid OLED market share continuing to decline. In addition, the market share of LTPO panels is growing to more than 15 per cent.

The earnings performance of the ▲ source TechInsightsLCD display panel market continued to decline, with revenue falling 42% year-on-year in the quarter. Smartphones have been the main buyers of LCD panels for the past few years, but that share has been declining in the past few quarters and is expected to fall below 50 per cent this year, according to data obtained by TechInsights.

▲ Touyuan TechInsights, from the supplier's point of view, although Samsung lost customer orders for high-end smartphone products in fierce competition, the brand still dominates the market with a 51 per cent share of revenue. This was followed by China's Beijing Oriental and Tianma, which accounted for 20% and 8% of the market share of Q1 in 2023, respectively, while the rest had a combined 21% market share.
