Philoptics said it had signed contracts worth 63 billion won (CTOnews.com Note: about 338 million yuan) with Samsung, while the other three signed contracts with Samsung of 36 billion won (currently about 193 million yuan), 35.7 billion won (currently about 192 million yuan) and 21.8 billion won (currently about 117 million yuan), all signed on May 26.

Surprisingly, however, Samsung's first orders did not include suppliers of deposition machines and lithography machines, which typically take the longest time to build and debug. The source said the delay was due to Samsung showing that it had not yet determined the terms with Canon Tokki, a supplier of deposition machines.

These companies have shown Samsung devices for generation 6 OLED panel production in the past, and the newly purchased devices can be used for generation 8 OLED panel production without much adjustment.

At the same time, it is reported that Samsung has not yet decided whether Canon Tokki or Nikon will provide the lithography machine.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Samsung said in April that it planned to spend 4.1 trillion won on the production of the eighth generation OLED panel, which will mainly serve larger digital products than smartphones. In addition, Samsung shows that it is preparing for mass production of transparent OLED, with the goal of releasing a trial product in the second half of 2023 to break LG's monopoly on the sector.
