CTOnews.com May 31 news, Dr. Web researchers delved into Google Play Store, found a number of Android applications exist "SpinOk" spyware module, steal user private data, and send it to remote servers.

Dr. "These apps embedded with SpinOk modules appear legitimate and attract users with daily rewards," the Web researchers said.

These apps will detect sensor data such as gyroscopes and magnetometers on Android devices. After confirming that they are not running in a sandbox environment, they will connect to remote servers and download some Mini games to attract users to click.

These apps read files in directories, search for specific files, upload files from devices, or copy and replace clipboard content in the background.

Dr. Web researchers found 101 apps embedded with SpinOk modules on the Play Store, with more than 421290300 downloads. CTOnews.com has the following top downloads:

VFly: Video editor and video producer (over 50 million downloads)
