CTOnews.com, May 31 (Xinhua) Japanese startup PowerX plans to independently develop and mass-produce LFP lithium batteries to facilitate the launch of the first medium-distance electric ship in 2025.

PowerX plans to increase the power storage density of the battery to increase its capacity and meet longer transportation trips.

PowerX announced the specifications of the first electric cruise ship, with a length of 140m, a width of 18.6m and a draft depth of less than 6m.

PowerX also plans to set up multiple charging stations at multiple terminals, depending on the transport route, to be able to quickly charge electric cruise ships.

CTOnews.com reported in December last year that PowerX plans to build the largest battery factory in Japan, which is scheduled to be completed in October 2023 and officially put into production around the spring of 2024.
