After careful observation, astronomers confirmed that the satellite was an asteroid called 2023 FW13, which did not orbit the Earth, but around the sun.

The 2023 FW13 is only 10-15 meters wide and is the size of a five-story building. Astronomical observers have attracted wide attention because of the asteroid's orbit and its expected to remain near Earth for the next 1500 years.

The radius of the Earth's Hill sphere is 9.32 million miles (1.5 million km), while 2023 FW13 is about 1.6 million miles from the Earth.
