As of CTOnews.com, Metacritic has 44 media ratings, with the PC version averaging 88. IGN gave the game a high score of 9 points, praising it for its near-perfect endgame and progression design. GameSpot gave the game an 8 out of 10, saying it had a gripping story, complex characters woven into a story of loss and redemption, flexible role-playing systems, and gorgeous and varied scenes.

However, the two media outlets also pointed out some shortcomings of the game, such as disappointing story, some annoying bugs, and a lack of good Boss battles in ordinary dungeons.
