The latest foreign media reports show that in Kia, which is vigorously developing electric vehicles, the goal in the European market this year is to sell 93000 pure electric vehicles, and the target for the whole year is to sell 578000 vehicles, with electric vehicles accounting for 16%.

According to the report, Kia sold 542423 cars in Europe last year, of which 71602 were pure electric vehicles, accounting for 13%. Both the overall sales volume and the sales target for electric vehicles this year are higher than those of last year.

Kia currently sells three electric cars in Europe, namely the Niro EV, the Soul EV and the EV6. They will also launch their flagship EV9 SUV later this year, an electric car that is also an important driver for them to meet their sales targets in the European market.

The EV9 SUV is the second Kia model with a dedicated platform for Hyundai E-GMP electric vehicles after the EV6 SUV launched in 2021, equipped with 99.8kWh batteries and expected to have a range of more than 500km. Kia plans to gradually launch EV9 in Europe, the United States and other markets in the second half of this year.
