Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com May 30 news, according to foreign science and technology media WikiChip reports, TSMC N3 process node SRAM density and N5 process node are basically the same.

TSMC recently presented more information about the N3 node lineup at the 2023 technology seminar. The slide at the seminar shows that although the N3 process improves the logical density (logic density), the SRAM density is basically the same.

Judging from the chip miniaturization in recent years, the SRAM density is obviously slower than the chip logic density, which is bound to bring greater challenges to the more advanced chip technology in the future.

TSMC initially claimed that the N3B SRAM density was 20 per cent higher than the N5 process, but the latest information showed that the SRAM density increased by only 5 per cent.

SRAM is the bulk of the cost of processor transistors, which will undoubtedly push up the manufacturing cost of N3B in the absence of density improvement.
