CTOnews.com May 30 news, Arm yesterday released the new Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 CPU core, after MediaTek officially confirmed that the Tianji 9300 platform will adopt Arm's new mobile processor core IP, including the new Cortex-X4 super core and Cortex-A720 performance core, the overall performance will be greatly improved.

Today, digital blogger @ Digital chat Station revealed that Tianji 9300 will adopt a new all-big core architecture with 4 Cortex-X4 super cores and 4 Cortex-A720 cores, which will block Apple's A17 processor in performance and reduce power consumption by more than 50% compared with Tianji 9200.

CTOnews.com previously reported that according to Arm, the new core design has significantly improved energy efficiency, as well as enhanced security and scalability. Among them, the Cortex-X4, as a flagship product, has an average 15% improvement in core performance compared with last year's Cortex-X3, and reduces power consumption by 40% at the same frequency, while the core area increases by only 10%. As the computing core of balancing performance and power consumption, the A720 has a 20% increase in energy efficiency and lower cache data latency compared with the previous generation. As the core of low power consumption, A520 increases the energy efficiency ratio by 22% compared with the previous generation.

Not only that, the Tianji 9300 platform will also adopt the new fifth-generation GPU Immortalis-G720 released by Arm yesterday. Compared with last year's Immortalis G715, the Immortalis G720 has 15 per cent higher energy efficiency, 15 per cent better peak performance and an average 15 per cent increase in frame rate. As the flagship GPU core, Immortalis-G720 comes standard with hardware-level RayTracing. In addition, Arm introduces delayed vertex shading (DVS) technology for the Immortalis G720 to reduce memory and bandwidth usage, thereby saving power and improving the frame rate of the display.
