Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com May 30 news, XFS users reported last week that there was a metadata failure after upgrading to Linux 6.3.3 maintenance version update. Kernel developers have recently released a dynamic update, indicating that the problem has been locked because a line of code has been deleted from the update, resulting in the lack of a corresponding patch.
Dave Chinner, a XFS developer at Red Hat, released a patch on Saturday to help users suffering from XFS metadata corruption. "this patch only fixes the livelock of the XFS file system on stripe," Chinner said. I guess in some cases, this problem does not have repeated failures in allocating livelock, but corrupted mappings are returned to writeback code, thus misleading writeback IO.
CTOnews.com note: Rune Kleveland, who has been actively dealing with this issue, said that after installing the patch, the hardware has been stable for more than 90 minutes, so I think this patch is effective.
