On May 29, Didi Autopilot and Valeo signed a letter of intent for strategic cooperation and investment. Valeo will make a strategic investment in Didi autopilot and jointly develop intelligent security solutions for L4 self-driving taxis (Robotaxi).

The two sides will set up a joint R & D team to create a cost-effective safety redundancy system and related technologies that can operate independently and meet the requirements of vehicle specifications, based on their respective technological and resource advantages and for L4 self-driving shared travel scenarios. This customized intelligent security solution will comprehensively improve the dimensions and standards of redundant systems in many aspects, such as software and hardware; at the same time, special security design will be carried out for specific operational scenarios of shared travel. When the self-driving main system encounters a sudden failure, this technology can rely on an independent perceptual kit to take over and provide planning control of the redundant system to ensure travel safety.

The intelligent security solution will be the first to be applied to Didi's self-driving L4 self-driving taxis, helping Didi self-driving to provide passengers with safe, reliable, comfortable and low-cost self-driving services.
