CTOnews.com May 30 news, Intel recently held the Computex 2023 conference, demonstrated the Meteor Lake processor prototype, focusing on the processor in the coprocessor VPU some functions.

Meteor Lake processors no longer use monolithic design (monolithic design), but use decentralized design and combine the passed chiplets to meet different tasks.

The multi-function processing unit (VPU) provided in Meteor Lake, the main technology comes from Movidius, which Intel acquired in 2016. By introducing VPU, Intel can speed up the processing of tasks related to AI algorithms and machine learning models.

The main tasks of VPU in Meteor Lake include real-time processing of photos and videos, filtering applications, automatically blurring the background, zooming applications, replacing images and so on. In addition, VPU also has the ability to recognize users' eye movements and gestures in real time.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the processor was completed two weeks ago and has 16 cores and 22 threads, 1.6 MB L1 cache, 18 MB L2 cache and 24 MB L3 cache.
