CTOnews.com, May 30 (Xinhua)-- Polish game developer CD Projekt reiterated on Monday that the company will not be sold after rumors over the weekend that the maker of "Cyberpunk 2077" could be a possible acquisition target for Sony.

"there's no change on our side, and I can repeat what we've been saying for years-CD Projekt won't be sold. We want to be independent," CEO Adam Kisinsky said on a first-quarter earnings call. "it's exciting to be able to go your own way, so it's pure rumor."

After not releasing a major new work for two years, the company plans to release the expansion package "Phantom Freedom" of Cyberpunk 2077 in Los Angeles on June 8 this year.

The company also said it has sold more than 2000 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077, more than 50 million copies of Wizarding 3: hunting, and more than 7500 million copies of the entire wizard trilogy.

CD Projekt's first-quarter net profit rose 1% year-on-year to 6970 million zlotys (CTOnews.com), but revenue fell 19% year-on-year to 1.748 billion zlotys (293 million yuan).
