Specifically, Yongping Temple-cho, Fukui Prefecture commissioned the Industrial Technology Comprehensive Research Institute (AIST) and private enterprises (Soliton Systems, Mitsubishi Electric Co., Ltd., Yamaha Motor) to conduct technical empirical tests. And self-driving vehicle services using remote self-driving systems.

According to reports, the self-driving service here is based on Yamaha's AR-07:Green Slow Mobility seven-seater model. It takes about 10 minutes to drive back and forth on about 2 kilometers of road between the gate of Yongping Temple in Daben Mountain of Cao Dongzong and the "barren valley stop" in the town.

Vehicles run along specific routes on bicycle and pedestrian roads at a speed of 12 kilometers per hour or less. If there are obstacles, they will automatically identify and slow down and stop.

Officials say the L4 self-driving car runs between 10:00 and 3 p.m. On weekends and holidays and costs 100 yen for adults and 50 yen for junior high school students.
