Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for clue delivery! CTOnews.com Intel introduced ATX 3.0 and ATX12VO 2.0 power standards last year, adding a 12VHPWR power connector that provides up to 600 watts of power directly to PCIe 5.0 graphics cards.

However, after the NVIDIA RTX 4090 series graphics card popularized the 12VHPWR power interface, there have been many reports about the interface being burned, causing a lot of controversy. Nvidia says there can be danger when the power cord connector isn't fully plugged in, and GamersNexus testing confirms this.

In order to make it easier for users to check whether the 12VHPWR module cable on the graphics card and power supply is firmly plugged in, MSI has introduced a customized 12VHPWR two-color power cable, and the connector end is prominently yellow. If you can see the yellow part, it means that it is not inserted firmly, so as to avoid overheating melting and burning problems due to poor contact.

According to reports, the power module cable is first installed on the new MAG A850GL PCIE5 ATX 3.0 power supply, but it should be universal.

As you can see from the picture, this cable uses a 12+4 (16 pin) design, and the end of the connector uses a bright yellow design. The idea is simple, as long as the user can see the yellow part, the line is not inserted properly. As CTOnews.com shows in the image below: only plug the 12VHPWR connector all the way down until only the black part is visible to ensure safety.
