CTOnews.com May 29 news, Xiaomi India Branch announced today that it will start producing wireless audio products in India through cooperation with Indian manufacturer Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL) to further localize its business.

Xiaomi is said to be producing its first Indian-made audio equipment at its Optiemus Electronics plant in Optiemus Uttar Pradesh and reiterated its goal of increasing locally procured parts production by 50 per cent by 2025.

The company did not say which products it would produce at its Indian plant, but it was "committed to building more such partnerships for a wider range of categories in our product line."

Most of Xiaomi's smartphones and televisions sold in India are made locally, and the company did not say when it would start producing audio products. It sells speakers, earplugs, wired headphones and wireless headphones in India.

Currently, Xiaomi has only two headphones on sale in India, namely the Redmi Buds 3 Lite for 1599 rupees and the Redmi Earbuds 2C for 1599 rupees (CTOnews.com Note: about RMB137).
