CTOnews.com May 29 news, during the 2023 Taipei computer Show, Asustek showed a GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card without external power supply design (which is still in the conceptual stage). Although the graphics card itself is RTX 4070, it does not belong to any existing product line.

The ASUS Concept GeForce RTX 4070 features a 2.3-slot, three-fan design. The back of the graphics card has an extended backplane that extends beyond the PCB and has a notch to enhance heat dissipation.

The card also comes with a switch that allows you to switch freely between "performance" and "quiet" modes. It is worth mentioning that although the back of this graphics card is quoted with the word "Megalodon", Asustek made it clear that this is not the final brand of the card.

The most interesting thing about this graphics card is that, in addition to the standard PCIe Gen 4.0x16 slot, it also has a proprietary interface to the PCB (CTOnews.com Note: it needs to be used with a special slot on a specific motherboard), which provides up to 600W of power, similar to AMD's Radeon Pro graphics card for Apple's Mac Pro system.

For demonstration purposes, Asustek also showed two Z790 motherboards with back wiring, including three 8pin connectors and one 12VHPWR connector, which can power the above graphics card directly through a proprietary slot.

The motherboard itself uses a very standard Z790 TUF Gaming design, based on the ATX form factor, LGA 1700 platform, 16x 1-phase VRM power and 60A MOSFET, supports all the latest I / O connections, and provides two PCIe 4.0x16, two PCIe 4.0x1, and one PCIe 4.0x4 slot.

In addition, it is equipped with PCIe-Slot Q-Release, all M.2 slots are covered with heatsink and M.2 Q-Latch.

According to Asustek, the two motherboards are scheduled to go on sale later this year, unlike the customized mechanical ape products limited to the Chinese market, which is expected to be launched globally.
