▲ source: Samsung display reported that the hybrid OLED developed by Samsung is to replace the upper glass substrate with thin film packaging, while the 0.5T thick lower glass substrate will be etched into 0.2T thick UT substrate. In comparison, the hybrid OLED is lighter than the OLED hard screen and more suitable for the production of automotive curved display.

▲ source: Samsung reports that Samsung is currently developing hybrid OLED technology in the 6th generation A3 production line. Industry insiders believe that Samsung shows that the purpose of mass production of automotive OLED through the A3 production line is to produce large-size OLED.

Sources pointed out that Samsung's current A2 production line of automotive OLED needs to cut the substrate 4 times to complete the deposition process after the TFT process, but the A3 production line only needs to cut the substrate twice. This also means that the A3 production line can produce large displays of more than 30 inches, which is closer to the needs of automakers.
