CTOnews.com May 29, market research firm Canalys today released a global report on shipments of personal smart audio devices (such as TWS true wireless headphones, headsets, etc.) in the first quarter of 2023.

▲ image source Canalys Wechat official account report shows that global shipments of personal smart audio devices fell to 86.72 million units in the first quarter of 2023, down 15 percent from the same period last year. Of this total, shipments of TWS true wireless headphones fell to 61.58 million, a simultaneous drop of 10 per cent.

Apple (including Beats)'s market share shrank to 29% in the first quarter of 2023, a decline of 19% in proportional shipments, but still ranked first in market share

Samsung ranked second in market share, with a 22% drop in proportional shipments

Xiaomi ranked third in market share, with proportional shipments falling by 31%.

Although the TWS shipments of Indian manufacturer boAt increased by 30% compared with the same period last year, this year's shipments were caused by the change in demand for wireless neckline products to TWS, compared with last year's TWS shipping base, and boAt still ranked fourth with 4% market share.

OPPO (including one plus) ranked fifth, with shipments up 38% year-on-year, mainly by its OPPO brand actively innovating in China, working hard on its entry-level and mid-range products to help it achieve year-on-year growth.
