CTOnews.com, May 29, Nvidia announced on its website today that it will provide customized AI model contract manufacturing service-Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) for Games, which can develop AI models that run on cloud and PC. Developers can use this service to build and deploy customized voice, dialogue and animation AI models in their software and games.
At Computex 2023 in Taipei, Nvidia showed off a game called Kairos, Demo, which allows players to talk to game characters in natural language. This is a technology based on generative artificial intelligence that allows non-player characters (NPC) to be intelligent and responsive, which Nvidia calls "a glimpse of the future of the game."
Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun demonstrated the technology at the meeting, where players can press a button to speak in their own voice in a cyber punk-style ramen shop scene, and the store owner Jin will answer. Jin is a NPC character, but his answer is generated in real time by generative artificial intelligence based on the player's voice input. Jin also has realistic facial animation and sound, consistent with the player's tone and backstory.
The presentation was co-produced by Nvidia and partner Convai, a startup focused on developing conversational artificial intelligence in the virtual gaming world. They took advantage of a set of AI model manufacturing services called ACE (Avatar Cloud Engine) for Games launched by Nvidia, which includes the following parts:
Nvidia NeMo: used to build, customize, and deploy language models that use proprietary data. The language model can be customized according to game settings and character background, and bad or unsafe conversations can be prevented through NeMo Guardrails.
Nvidia Riva: used for automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech to achieve real-time voice conversation.
Nvidia Omniverse Audio2Face: used to quickly generate expressive facial animation of game characters based on any voice trajectory. Audio2Face supports Unreal Engine 5's Omniverse connector, and developers can add facial animation directly to MetaHuman characters.
Developers can integrate the entire ACE for Games solution, or they can only use what they need. ACE for Games also provides services for customizing AI models to help developers optimize according to their game needs and reason in real time through Nvidia DGX Cloud, GeForce RTX PC or locally. These models have been delayed optimized to meet the key requirements of immersive and responsive interaction in the game.
