CTOnews.com learned from the patent abstract that the invention discloses a method for quantifying the potential risk of vehicle blind spots based on uncertainty, which includes the following steps:

Step 1, obtain the original data of the participants from the car and observable traffic.

Step 2, the original data of the self-driving and observable traffic participants are processed to obtain the risk weight value, including the information uncertainty weight value, the blind area uncertainty weight value, the observable traffic participant abnormal acceleration and deceleration weight value, and the traffic flow weight value of the road network in the self-driving area.

Step 3, calculate the potential risk value of the blind area according to the risk weight value

Step 4, visual risk hints are carried out according to the potential risk value of the blind area.

This method does not need to add new sensors to achieve the traditional visual angle blindness and reduce the cost; based on the information uncertainty of the blind area, the abnormal acceleration and deceleration of the surrounding vehicles and the traffic flow in the road network, the dangerous degree of the surrounding environment of the vehicle can be predicted, and the safety of the driving process can be greatly improved.

In general, the blind area is divided into interior blind area and out-of-vehicle blind area, in which there are four major visual blind areas: front blind area, rear blind area, rearview mirror blind area and AB column blind area. The blind area outside the car is caused by fixed or moving objects and light problems.
