Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues on the way! CTOnews.com, May 28, India's GSLV Mk II (F12) carrier rocket was transferred to launch pad 2 of the Sadish Dawan Space Center on May 24. It is scheduled to launch at 13:12 Beijing time on the 29th, and is preparing to deploy NVS-01, the first satellite of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite system (NavIC), to the geosynchronous transfer orbit.

CTOnews.com inquiry learned that the GSLV Mk II rocket is mainly used to carry out synchronous orbit satellite launch missions, so far a total of 8 launches, 62% failure. The F12 mission will be the first comeback of the rocket since F10 failed to launch the GISAT-01 high-orbit remote sensing star on August 12, 2021.

The NVS-01, which weighs about 2232 kilograms, is the first of the second generation satellites envisaged for the Indian Constellation Navigation (NavIC) service. The NVS series of satellites will support and enhance NavIC with enhanced capabilities. The series includes additional L1-band signals to expand the range of services. According to reports, the NVS-01 will carry a local atomic clock for the first time.

It is worth mentioning that it has been nearly two years since India's last GTO launch (August 2021) and nearly four and a half years since India's last successful GTO launch (December 2018).
